Plain-Language Summary

Ascension Academy (“Ascension Academy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our websites, landing pages, forms, checkout, emails, and other online properties that link to this policy (the “Sites”).

If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Sites.


1) Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Contact details (name, email address, phone number).

  • Account/profile info you submit (city, country, role, interests).

  • Messages you send via forms, chat, or email.

  • Purchase and billing details (billing address, transaction IDs, last 4 digits of card, subscription status) provided to us by payment processors.

  • Event/cohort/mentorship applications, surveys, and support requests.

  • SMS consent and message content (if you opt into text messages).

Information collected automatically

  • Device/usage data (IP address, browser type, device IDs, pages viewed, links clicked, time on page, referring/exit pages).

  • Cookies, pixels, and similar technologies (see Section 10).

Information from third parties

  • Payment processors (e.g., Kajabi Payments and its partners, Stripe, PayPal) share limited transaction data; we do not receive full card numbers.

  • Analytics & ads partners (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta/Google ads) provide aggregated insights.

  • Email & CRM platforms (e.g., Kajabi) provide campaign performance and subscription status.

  • Social platforms when you interact with our content or connect accounts.


2) How We Use Information

We process personal information to:

  • Provide and improve our content, courses, coaching, digital downloads, and community.

  • Process purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and send receipts.

  • Respond to questions and provide support.

  • Send educational content, newsletters, and promotional messages (opt out anytime).

  • Personalize content and ads where permitted.

  • Perform analytics and measure performance.

  • Detect, prevent, and address security, fraud, or abuse.

  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Legal bases for EEA/UK users (GDPR): performance of a contract; legitimate interests; consent (for marketing/cookies where required); and legal obligations.


3) How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers (“processors”) that help run our Sites and services (hosting, checkout, email/CRM, analytics, ads, cloud storage, customer support). They may use data only to perform services for us.

  • Payment processors to complete transactions, issue refunds, prevent fraud, and comply with law.

  • Business transfers (e.g., merger, acquisition, asset sale).

  • Legal & safety (to comply with law; protect rights, property, safety).

  • With your consent or at your direction.


4) Payments & Billing (Kajabi Payments, Stripe, PayPal, Wallets)

Payment processing. We use Kajabi Payments and/or other third-party processors (collectively, “Payment Processors”), which may include Stripe, PayPal, and supported digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay(availability may vary by region and device). We do not receive or store full payment card numbers. Payment card data is handled by the Payment Processors in accordance with PCI-DSS.

What we receive. We may receive limited transaction details (e.g., last 4 digits, expiration month/year, billing ZIP/postal code, transaction ID, amount, status, and subscription info) for receipts, support, fraud prevention, and accounting.

Kajabi Payments. If you pay via Kajabi Payments, your payment data is processed by Kajabi and its payment partners. Your use of those services is governed by their terms and privacy notices.

Other options. If you choose Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, your payment data is processed by those providers under their own terms and privacy notices.

Taxes & invoices. We may collect and retain tax-relevant data (billing address, country/region, VAT/GST/TIN where applicable) to meet legal obligations.

Refunds & chargebacks. If you request a refund or initiate a chargeback, we will share necessary information with the Payment Processor and your bank to resolve the dispute.

Strong Customer Authentication (EEA/UK). Your bank may require SCA (e.g., a one-time code or app approval) to complete payment. This step is handled by the Payment Processor and/or your bank.


5) Email & SMS Communications

  • Email. If you subscribe or purchase, we may send you newsletters, updates, and offers. Unsubscribe anytime via the link in our emails.

  • SMS/Text (if used). With your express consent, we may send texts about updates and offers. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help.

We comply with applicable anti-spam laws (e.g., CAN-SPAM, and where applicable, CASL/GDPR consent).


6) Your Rights & Choices

Everyone

  • Emails: Unsubscribe using the link in any email.

  • SMS: Reply STOP.

  • Cookies/ads: See Section 10 for controls and opt-outs.

California residents (CPRA)

  • Rights to know/access, delete, correct, and to opt out of “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising.

  • We do not “sell” personal information for money. We may “share” identifiers and internet/activity data with advertising partners for targeted ads unless you opt out.

EEA/UK (GDPR)

  • Rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and data portability.

  • Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time (does not affect prior processing).

7) Data Retention

We retain personal information as long as necessary to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Typical retention periods:

  • Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe or after [e.g., 3 years] of inactivity.

  • Transaction records: at least [e.g., 7 years] for tax/audit.

8) Security

9) International Data Transfers

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) for cross-border transfers.


10) Cookies, Pixels & Similar Technologies

We use cookies/pixels to run the Sites, remember preferences, measure performance, and personalize content/ads where permitted.

  • Functional (preferences, saved settings).

11) Children’s Privacy

12) Third-Party Links & Integrations

Our Sites may link to third-party websites or include embedded features (e.g., YouTube/Vimeo, social media). Your interactions are governed by those third parties’ privacy policies, not this one.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last Updated” date. Material changes may be highlighted on the Sites or emailed to you.
