A Call to Marketplace Prophets and Prophetic Builders to Fortify, Build, and Establish Legacy

Nicola Maclin teaching the 2026 prophetic word, The Year of the Fortified Ones, for marketplace prophets and prophetic builders.

The prophetic word for those God has prepared to build beyond the walls of the church.

By: Prophet Nicola A. Maclin

In December 2025, I received a prophetic word for the season and 2026: Tell them to build.

The word was not simply about starting projects, announcing plans, or becoming more visible. It was a call to build the internal, spiritual, and practical structures that can preserve what God has called us to carry.

The first word was FORTIFY.

God was calling His builders forward, but He was also addressing the condition of the builder. Some assignments had been delayed, abandoned, or repeatedly interrupted because the person carrying the assignment had not been fortified to sustain it.

This word is especially important for marketplace prophets and prophetic builders. Many are receiving revelation about businesses, books, schools, communities, systems, media platforms, ministries, technologies, and movements. Revelation may show you what to build, but fortification determines whether you can remain standing while you build it.

The word of the Lord for the season starting in 2026 is not simply, “Go build.”

It is: Fortify yourself, build the wall around your purpose, receive the blueprint, and build with Me.

“Your first word for 2026 is FORTIFY. I am activating My fortified builders, so that when they build with Me, it shall endure.”

What Does It Mean to Be Fortified?

To fortify something is to strengthen it against pressure, attack, deterioration, or collapse. A fortified city is not a city without purpose or movement. It is a city prepared to protect what is valuable within it.

Prophetic people often think about protection only in terms of spiritual warfare. We pray against attack, accusation, sabotage, and opposition. Those prayers matter, but fortification goes deeper than praying against what is outside of you.

Fortification also addresses what is happening within you.

It confronts the patterns that make you abandon what God told you to build. It strengthens the places where fear, disorder, insecurity, exhaustion, comparison, and disobedience have repeatedly gained access.

This is why Proverbs 25:28 compares a person without self-control to a city whose walls are broken down. The condition of the wall determines what can enter, what can leave, and what can be preserved.

A fortified prophet is not a prophet who never experiences pressure. A fortified prophet has been formed to remain obedient under pressure.

A fortified prophet can hear resistance without abandoning the blueprint. They can receive correction without collapsing into shame. They can become visible without allowing visibility to destroy their inner life. They can carry responsibility without depending entirely on adrenaline, emotion, or personal strength.

Fortification is the strengthening of the person who must carry the purpose.

Think of Nehemiah: Build the Wall First

The prophetic word repeatedly directed me to Nehemiah.

Nehemiah did not begin with a promotional campaign. He did not begin by announcing a grand vision without examining the condition of the city. He inspected the broken walls, identified the damage, gathered the people, and led them into the work of rebuilding.

In Nehemiah 2:17-18, he said:

“Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.”

“And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.”
Nehemiah 2:17-18, KJV

The wall had a function. It created protection, definition, order, and the conditions necessary for life within the city to be restored.

This is the pattern for prophetic builders in this season.

Before you attempt to expand the assignment, inspect the wall around it.

Before you pray for greater visibility, examine what must be strengthened to preserve you in visibility.

Before you ask God for more people, more opportunity, or more influence, build the systems that will help you steward what those prayers could produce.

The wall is not the assignment itself. The wall is what protects the assignment from being devoured.

What Can a Wall Around Purpose Look Like?

A wall around your purpose may include:

  • A consistent prayer life that is not dependent on crisis

  • Time boundaries that protect your strength and attention

  • Financial systems that allow the work to continue responsibly

  • Accountability that confronts self-deception

  • Emotional maturity that keeps offense from governing decisions

  • A clear process for receiving, testing, recording, and implementing revelation

  • Rest that keeps exhaustion from becoming a spiritual identity

  • Operational systems that preserve quality as the assignment grows

  • A defined audience, sphere, and function

  • The discipline to complete what God has already instructed

Some prophets are trying to cast out what needs to be structured.

Some are calling everything warfare when part of the problem is the absence of boundaries, systems, preparation, or follow-through.

Prayer is not opposed to structure. Structure can become one of the answers to prayer.

God may give the revelation in a moment, but the builder must still count the cost, gather the materials, follow the measurements, and continue working when the moment no longer feels dramatic.

Fortify the Builder, Not Just the Work

One of the strongest lines in the prophetic word was:

“You are an asset. Build a system to preserve you as My asset.”

Many prophetic people know how to protect the message while neglecting the messenger.

They will guard the revelation, serve the people, finish the event, respond to every need, and continue producing while their own spiritual and emotional life deteriorates.

That is not sustainable stewardship.

You are not separate from what God has called you to build. Your spiritual health, thought life, relationships, body, integrity, and capacity affect the structure you are building.

When the builder is consistently depleted, unaccountable, disorganized, or divided, the assignment eventually feels the strain.

Fortifying yourself does not mean becoming self-consumed. It means accepting that your formation is part of your stewardship.

You do not preserve yourself because you believe everything depends on you. You preserve yourself because God entrusted something to you, and you refuse to treat the vessel carelessly.

This Is Activation, Not Revival

The word made a distinction between revival and activation:

“I am not calling this a revival. I am calling this an activation. Revival brings back what was. Activation moves you into what you have not walked in before.”

Activation is not another emotional stirring with no movement.

Activation occurs when what God has formed in private begins functioning in public obedience.

Some prophets have spent years in preparation. Their discernment has been trained. Their character has been tested. Their language has matured. Their confidence has been stripped of performance and rebuilt through obedience.

The next step is not endless preparation.

It is responsible movement.

There comes a point when remaining hidden is no longer humility. It becomes avoidance.

There comes a point when asking God for another confirmation is not discernment. It becomes delay.

Activation does not mean forcing yourself into a position God has not given you. It means responding when God calls you out of the cave and into the assignment He has already been forming.

You may not feel completely ready. Nehemiah still had enemies. Ezekiel still stood in a valley of dry bones. The disciples still had to move beyond the room where they received power.

Fortification is not about reaching a state where nothing can challenge you. It is about becoming strong enough in God to obey while the challenge is present.

Kill the Cycle, Not the Assignment

The prophetic word named four cycles that must end:

  • Delay

  • Denial

  • Disobedience

  • Dysfunction

These cycles are not interchangeable.

Delay keeps moving obedience into an undefined future.

Denial refuses to acknowledge what God has already exposed.

Disobedience knows the instruction but continually chooses another response.

Dysfunction creates patterns that repeatedly destabilize the person, the team, or the work.

If the same kind of breakdown keeps occurring around different assignments, the assignment may not be the problem. The cycle may be the problem.

You can change the name of the project, move to another platform, find a new collaborator, receive another prophecy, or start again with fresh excitement. If the internal cycle remains intact, it will eventually reproduce the same outcome.

God is not calling you to kill the assignment because the process exposed a weakness.

He is calling you to confront the cycle so the assignment can live.

This requires honesty. It means identifying where you repeatedly stop, retreat, overcommit, isolate, procrastinate, compare, rebel, or become offended. It means allowing the Holy Spirit to address the pattern at its root, not simply manage the latest consequence.

The fortified one stops going around the same mountain.

Why This Word Matters for Marketplace Prophets

A marketplace prophet is not simply a prophet who owns a business.

It is also not a title that should be used to make prophecy sound more profitable or impressive. “Marketplace prophet” is a modern descriptive phrase, not a separate biblical office.

The phrase describes prophets whose assignments require them to carry divine insight, discernment, strategy, and truth into spheres beyond the traditional pulpit.

Marketplace prophets may be assigned to:

  • Business and entrepreneurship

  • Education

  • Government and public policy

  • Media and publishing

  • Technology

  • Healthcare

  • Coaching and consulting

  • Community development

  • Creative industries

  • Organizational leadership

  • Economic systems

These prophets are not only called to announce what they see. Many are called to build a response to what they see.

Joseph did not merely interpret Pharaoh’s dreams. He developed and administered a national strategy.

Daniel did not only receive visions. He served with distinction inside governmental systems while remaining faithful to God.

Bezalel received divine wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and craftsmanship to construct according to God’s design.

Nehemiah carried grief, revelation, strategy, leadership, administration, and courage into the rebuilding of a city.

Prophetic building often requires more than revelation. It requires architecture, communication, financial stewardship, team development, documentation, implementation, evaluation, and endurance.

This is why marketplace prophets must be fortified.

The marketplace will test whether your revelation can become responsible strategy. It will expose weak execution, unclear communication, poor boundaries, financial disorder, and the absence of systems.

Your gift may open the door, but your formation and stewardship affect what happens after the door opens.

In 2026, God is not only activating prophetic voices. He is activating prophetic builders who can take divine instruction and construct something useful, ethical, excellent, and enduring.

What Are Prophets Called to Build?

Not every prophet is called to build the same kind of structure.

One may be called to build a training institution. Another may be called to build a publishing platform, a business, a community, a curriculum, a prayer network, a research body, a technological tool, or a model of care.

Some prophets are called to build language for what the Church has experienced but has not known how to explain.

Some are called to build bridges between spiritual revelation and professional environments.

Some are called to build systems that protect people from the disorder they experienced in previous ministry models.

Some are called to document what God is doing so another generation can recognize, test, and continue it.

The answer cannot be copied from someone else’s assignment.

You must seek God for your blueprint.

A blueprint answers more than “What should I start?” It addresses:

  • What am I building?

  • Who is it meant to serve?

  • What problem or need does it address?

  • What has God already placed in my hands?

  • What must be built first?

  • What sequence should the work follow?

  • What standards must govern it?

  • What people, skills, and systems will it require?

  • What must be protected as it grows?

  • What would faithfulness look like in this season?

Revelation identifies the assignment. A blueprint brings order to the building process.

The Two Instructions for Fortified Builders

The prophetic word gave two direct assignments.

1. Recall the last word God gave you

Return to the last clear instruction that you delayed, abandoned, or could not carry to completion.

Do not immediately label it a failure.

Ask the Lord where you were not fortified to carry it.

Perhaps you lacked structure. Perhaps you were dependent on approval. Perhaps you moved without counsel. Perhaps you attempted to sustain spiritual work entirely through personal strength. Perhaps you did not have the discipline, team, boundaries, or maturity the assignment required.

The goal is not to shame yourself for what did not happen.

The goal is to receive truth about what must be strengthened before you move again.

2. Seek God for the blueprint

Ask the Lord what you are called to build and how you are meant to build it.

Do not settle for a vague vision when God is inviting you into specific instruction.

Seek Him for the sequence.

Seek Him for the people.

Seek Him for the systems.

Seek Him for the timing.

Seek Him for the standard.

Seek Him for the part that belongs to this year.

A five-year vision may inspire you, but you still need to know what obedience looks like now.

What About the First 90 Days and the 21-Day Fortify Fast?

The instruction I received in December 2025 was specific:

“I give you the first 90 days to fortify. Give Me the first 90 days to fortify you.”

The word also called us into a 21-day Fortify Fast at the beginning of the season.

This is an invitation to consecrate the beginning of the season, receive instructions, and allow God to strengthen the builder before the building accelerated.

If you are reading this after the first 90 days of 2026, do not pretend the calendar has not moved. Return to what God said. Examine what you did with the opening of the year. Identify the instructions you received, the places where you grew, and the areas you continued to avoid.

Then ask God what obedience requires now.

You cannot recreate a missed date, but you can repent, respond, and stop extending the cycle.

The point is not to perform a late version of someone else’s fast. The point is to come back into agreement with God and allow Him to fortify what remains vulnerable.

What Does a Fortified One Look Like?

The prophetic word gives us a clear picture.

The fortified one:

  • Is no longer hiding in the cave

  • Says, “Nevertheless,” when obedience is costly

  • Trusts God even without complete certainty

  • Stops repeating the same destructive cycles

  • Can say, “Here am I, Lord, send me”

  • Can say, “Not my will, but Thy will”

  • Can say, “Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears”

  • Builds with God instead of relying on personal strength

  • Protects the fruit so it can remain

  • Establishes systems that preserve the person and the purpose

  • Receives the blueprint and follows the sequence

  • Stays at the wall when resistance comes

A fortified person is not hardened, defensive, or unreachable.

Fortification is not emotional numbness.

It is spiritual strength under government. It is a life submitted deeply enough to God that fear, comparison, accusation, and pressure no longer make every decision.

Some people were fortified in the furnace of affliction. Others were fortified in hiddenness, humility, correction, waiting, or service.

The furnace was not proof that God had forgotten the assignment.

It may have been part of how He prepared the builder.

Build Something That Can Outlive the Moment

This word carries a legacy mandate.

Legacy is not simply being remembered. Legacy is the continuation of fruit, wisdom, structure, and obedience beyond the moment in which it was first produced.

Jesus said in John 15:16 that He appointed His disciples to bear fruit and that their fruit should remain.

Remaining fruit requires more than a powerful beginning.

It requires stewardship.

It requires documentation.

It requires succession.

It requires systems that do not depend on one person being constantly available.

It requires the humility to train others, correct what is weak, and build beyond personal recognition.

Prophetic people can become attached to moments because moments feel spiritual. Legacy is built through what happens after the moment.

The question is not only whether people were moved when you spoke.

The question is whether what God gave you became something that could serve, train, protect, guide, or strengthen people after the meeting ended.

In 2026, build the wall around the fruit.

Do not allow what God produces through you to remain exposed, undocumented, unsupported, and dependent on constant emergency intervention.

Build with Him so the work can last.

A Prayer of Activation for Prophetic Builders

Father, in the name of Jesus, fortify me for what You have called me to build.

Expose every cycle of delay, denial, doubt, disobedience, and dysfunction that has interfered with my assignment.

Show me where my walls have been broken and where I have treated Your instructions lightly.

Strengthen my prayer life, my character, my mind, my boundaries, my stewardship, and my capacity.

Bring me out of hiding where hiding has become disobedience.

Give me the courage to say, “Nevertheless, not my will, but Thy will.”

Remind me of the last word I delayed or abandoned because I was not fortified.

Give me the blueprint for what I am called to build now.

Show me the structure, sequence, systems, people, and standards the assignment requires.

Teach me to build with You instead of operating in my own strength.

Fortify the builder in me so that my labor is not devoured, my purpose will endure, my work will last, and my fruit will remain.

Here am I, Lord. Send me.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

The Full Prophetic Word: The Year of the Fortified Ones

I received this word in December 2025. I have preserved the repetitions because they carry the urgency and movement of the original release.

“Tell them to build.

I am going to activate the builder.

Tell them to build a wall.

Build the wall around purpose.

Build a wall around what I have called you to.

Erect the wall around your purpose.

Build the systems that preserve your purpose.

Build the systems in you that preserve you.

You are an asset.

Build a system to preserve you as My asset.

I have given you the tools to build.

Fortify your purpose.

Fortify your purpose.

I am calling you up to engage.

You must be fortified.

2026 will be the year of the fortified ones.

I am putting into action those who have been fortified.

The year I call up higher the ones who have been fortified.

Build a wall around your legacy.

Build a wall to preserve your fruit.

Tell them to build.

I give you the first 90 days to fortify.

Give Me the first 90 days to fortify you.

Those who are fortified shall be able to build legacy in 2026.

Start fortifying now.

Start fortifying now,

that your work and your building may not be in vain.

That the thing I have called you to build with Me will last.

I am activating My fortified ones.

I am activating My fortified ones.

Some of you I have been fortifying in the furnace of affliction.

Some of you I have been fortifying in the place of humility.

I have been fortifying.

Now it is time to build.

Think of Nehemiah.

Nehemiah built.

He built the wall.

That was the first thing he built before he repaired everything else.

Fortify the wall around your purpose,

so that your labor is not devoured.

So that your purpose will endure.

So that your work will last.

So that your fruit will remain.

Activate the builder in them.

Activate the builder in them.

What does the fortified one look like?

The fortified one is no longer in the cave.

The one who says, ‘Nevertheless.’

The one who says, ‘I’m not sure, but I trust God this year.’

The one who stops going around the same mountain.

The one who stops repeating cycles.

In 2026, I am killing the cycle.

I am killing the cycle.

No more repeated patterns of dysfunction.

No more repeated patterns of delay.

No more repeated patterns of denial.

No more repeated patterns of disobedience.

Tonight, My daughter, quicken them into a new place in Me.

Activate every dry bone to come alive.

Speak the end of cycles over them.

Deliver them from cycles of delay,

cycles of denial,

cycles of disobedience,

cycles of dysfunction.

As they fortify themselves,

they shall be able to say, ‘Here am I, Lord, send me.’

They shall be able to say, ‘Nevertheless, not my will, but Thy will.’

They shall be able to say, ‘Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.’

No more delay.

No more denial.

No more doubt.

No more disobedience.

Build the wall.

Fortify yourself,

so that you can build My purpose in you into manifestation in 2026.

I am calling the fortified ones.

I am activating the fortified ones.

Some have already been crying out.

Some have already received a word from Me

to start fortifying so they can take action in 2026.

I am not calling this a revival.

I am calling this an activation.

Revival brings back what was.

Activation moves you into what you have not walked in before.

You have not been this way before.

Fortify your wall.

Fortify your wall,

so that you may build and erect the structure that lasts.

This is a season to establish legacy.

This is the season to establish what I have called you to manifest in the earth.

This is the season of no more excuses.

No more excuses.

No more imposter syndrome.

No more comparison.

When you fortify you, those things fall away.

When you erect a hedge of protection around your purpose,

you walk more confidently in purpose.

You build legacy more confidently.

You will be able to say,

‘Whom God has blessed, no man can curse,’

because you have erected the wall.

You have fortified yourself in Me.

Call them into a fast.

Call them into a fortify fast.

Fortify yourselves.

The first 21 days of 2026 will be a fortify fast.

When you take action in 2026,

that fast will carry you through.

Whatever you are establishing in 2026,

I will fortify in those first 21 days.

I will give you the instructions and the blueprint to build it.

But you must be fortified.

You were not able to carry out the last word

because you were not fortified.

You were operating in your own strength.

You did not build the wall with Me.

Your first word for 2026 is FORTIFY.

I am activating My fortified builders,

so that when they build with Me,

it shall endure.

Activate the fortified builder, daughter.

Activate the fortified builder.

Tell them to do two things:

Recall the last word I gave them

that they delayed, abandoned, or could not carry out because they were not fortified.

Seek Me for the blueprint for 2026,

the schematics for how to build and what to build in 2026.

I am calling the fortified ones

to architect and construct with Me.

Think of Nehemiah.

Think of the prophet.

Speak to their dry bones today,

because I am raising a great army.

But I cannot have soldiers who doubt,

who disobey,

and who live in dysfunction.

Tell them to build.

Tell them to fortify.

Tell them to build the wall with Me,

and what they build in 2026 will last.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the 2026 prophetic word?

The central prophetic word is FORTIFY. God is calling fortified prophets and builders to strengthen the person, systems, and boundaries around their purpose so they can build with Him and produce fruit that remains.

What is a fortified prophet?

A fortified prophet has been spiritually and practically strengthened to obey God under pressure. Fortification includes character, prayer, discipline, emotional maturity, boundaries, stewardship, accountability, and systems that preserve the assignment.

What is a marketplace prophet?

A marketplace prophet is a prophet whose assignment extends into professional, civic, cultural, economic, or creative spheres. The phrase is a modern description, not a separate biblical office. Marketplace prophets may receive insight that must become strategy, leadership, service, or responsible building.

Are marketplace prophets called to business?

Some are, but not all. A marketplace assignment may involve business, education, government, media, technology, healthcare, publishing, community development, or another sphere outside a traditional ministry setting.

What are prophetic builders called to build?

Prophetic builders may be called to build businesses, ministries, books, schools, communities, systems, technologies, frameworks, networks, or models of service. The specific structure must come from God’s instruction rather than comparison.

Why do prophetic builders need systems?

Systems preserve quality, boundaries, information, energy, finances, people, and fruit. They help the assignment continue beyond moments of inspiration and reduce unnecessary dependence on crisis management.

How do I identify what God has called me to build?

Begin with the last clear instruction God gave you. Record what repeatedly returns in prayer, the people or problems you are burdened to serve, the gifts and experience already in your hands, and the structure the assignment appears to require. Seek confirmation through Scripture, prayer, wise counsel, and responsible action.

You Do Not Have to Build Alone

After receiving a word like this, many prophets recognize that they need help clarifying what they are called to build and how to structure it.

That is part of the work we do inside The Realm of the Prophets.

I help prophets:

  • Clarify their calling, sphere, function, and assignment

  • Strengthen the builder behind the gift

  • Move beyond repeated cycles of hesitation and abandonment

  • Develop the structure required to carry the assignment

  • Build with greater confidence, maturity, and excellence
